Hurricane Fausto, located to the southwest of Baja California, is expected to move westward away from land and weaken to either a tropical storm or a tropical depression on Wednesday. Tropical Depression Eight-E, located off of the western coast of Mexico, will also move westward away from land, and will strengthen into a tropical storm, or possibly a hurricane, on Wednesday. An area of low pressure located near Tropical Depression Eight-E is not likely to develop. In the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Dolly is expected to have strengthened into a hurricane by Wednesday, and will begin to make landfall somewhere near the border of Texas and Mexico. Tropical Storm Cristobal is expected to move to the northeast away from the eastern coast of the U.S. Meanwhile, low pressure will trigger showers and storms across the eastern half of Mexico, while a tropical wave moving through Central America will produce heavy rain and storms over the region on Wednesday. The Caribbean Islands will see scattered showers and storms throughout the day.

The northern part of South America can expect the usual scattered showers and storms on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a trough will produce wet conditions over Bolivia, Paraguay, and southeastern Brazil, while northeastern Brazil could see a few coastal showers. A cold front exiting off of the southeastern coast of Argentina will continue to produce showers over the southern part of the continent, while a second cold front approaching the coast of Chile will bring coastal showers to southern Chile towards the end of the day on Wednesday.
